Dolphins

Dolphins are beautiful mammals.  Specially when they show up unexpected playing in the wake of the boat.

What do they say about lemons & lemonade?

A couple of days ago I started the car around 7:30 am.  Now, mind you, it is already past mid-March and we are NOT in Alaska...  But the weather runs on its own rhythm.  And of course, considering the kind of weather we had this year, ice had formed on my windshield... So, I figured that I would make the best of it. A little HRD et voila.

Any thoughts?

Rocky Neck Colony

Any visit to Gloucester's Rocky Neck area always offers a variety of great experiences.  From the cultural (a good number of galleries), to the culinary (two really great restaurants), to the visual.  We were in Rocky Neck yesterday visiting our friend Gigi artist and owner of the Aquatro Gallery.  Then we headed to the Madfish Grill for a dinner of sushi and (also) cooked seafood (which as always was delicious).

A visit to Rocky Neck will always give you an opportunity (no matter what time it is) to see and capture great scenery.  I hope you enjoy these two images taken from the Madfish Grill.

Cheyenne Frontier Days

On Sunday 7/20 I was able to visit the CFD location and see some of the rodeo activities.

I am saying "some" because the folks at JetBlue Airlines screwed things up for me.  (The flight from Boston to Denver was supposed to leave at 8:45 am and get to Denver at 11 and change.  Of course they had scheduled a plane that needed customs & immigration clearance which was not given until later so our flight left over an hour late...  long story short and despite my rather fast driving, I was only able to watch about half an hour of rodeo -- thank you JetBlue for nothing).

I took quite a few shots of the events (rodeo and Native American dancing).  Here are 18 (make sure you click on "more"). I hope you enjoy them.

Questions or comments, please feel free to email me.

Lemons? -- Lemonade (and fireworks)

Don't you just hate it?  I mean for a few years I have been going to the same spot in Marblehead harbor to shoot the 4th of July fireworks.  Of course, this year instead of having clear view of the fireworks, I had the masts of two sailboats between me and the so desirable objects in the sky (lemons).

So, undeterred I decided to stay there and shoot, and hopefully be creative, and play with the exposure, and, and, and ... (lemonade)

I do not know about you, but I am pleased with the outcome.

Comments? Questions? Thoughts?

Guests at weddings

I really love it when I see guests fiddling with their phones trying to take pictures or video at weddings.  I also like the picture-within-the picture idea (second photo).

Which are you?  The guest with the cellphone, or the guest who pays direct attention to the couple?

Questions or comments are always welcome.

Abandoned

Last week we went to Essex MA.  These are some of the things I found worthy of photographing near the Essex Shipbuilding museum.

It is amazing if you think that, at their time, the cars and the bicycle were really spectacularly new and costly to acquire.
